Custom Surgical Instrument Sets Manufacturer | ISO 13485 & CE Certified
Your Instruments. Your Layout. Your Brand. All Made Into One Ready-to-Use Set.
Ortho Gear Surgical designs and manufactures custom surgical instrument sets for dental, orthopedic and general surgical use. Tell us which instruments you need and how you want them arranged. We build the set, the tray and the packaging, all with your branding. Our ISO 13485 and CE certified process gives you steady quality, samples in about 7 days and orders starting from just 10 sets.

What Are Custom Surgical Instrument Sets?
A surgical instrument set is a group of instruments that belong together for one procedure. They are packed in a tray or sterilization cassette so everything is ready the moment it is needed. A custom set simply means you decide what goes inside.
Instead of buying instruments one at a time from different suppliers, you tell us the procedure, the instruments and the layout you want. We make the instruments, arrange the tray, add your branding and pack everything as one ready-to-use product.
Catalog sets do not always fit real needs. A clinic may want a smaller extraction set. A distributor may want a bundle that sells well in their market. A brand may want a signature kit of its own. Custom sets solve all three, and you only pay for what you actually need.
Why Choose Custom Surgical Instrument Sets?
Dentists, surgeons, distributors and brands choose made-to-measure sets for these reasons.
Everything in One Place
No more hunting for instruments before a procedure. Staff save time and stay focused.
Built Around Your Procedure
You get the instruments you need and nothing extra.
Easier to Sterilize
A well-designed tray keeps instruments organized from cleaning to storage.
A Stronger Brand
Your logo, colors and packaging make the set look and feel like your own product.
More Value
A complete set often sells for more than the same instruments sold one by one.
Consistent Quality
Every set follows the same specification, order after order.
For distributors, sets also make selling easier. A buyer can order one complete kit instead of putting together a list of twenty separate items.

Orthopedic Instrument Sets Built for Strength
Orthopedic work puts instruments under real force, so we pay extra attention to locking action, jaw alignment and finish. Our sets bring together the bone holding forceps, rongeurs, curettes and elevators your procedure calls for, arranged in a tray in the order you want them.
Have a drawing for a special instrument? We can make it and place it in your set through our OEM service.
Materials We Use for Surgical Instrument Sets
The material decides how long an instrument lasts, how it feels in the hand and how well it handles repeated sterilization. We pick the right one for each instrument instead of using one material for everything.
Stainless Steel Grades
Instrument-grade stainless steel is the base of every set. The grade depends on the job:
- AISI 420 and 410: hardenable grades for scissors, bone cutters, curettes, elevators and rongeurs
- AISI 304: easy to shape, good corrosion resistance, used for retractors, trays and holders
- AISI 316L: higher corrosion resistance for parts that face harsher washing
Tungsten Carbide Inserts
For needle holders and scissors, we can add tungsten carbide (TC) inserts. TC is much harder than steel, so jaws grip better and edges stay sharp far longer. TC instruments are often marked with gold handles so they are easy to spot in a tray.
Titanium
Where weight matters, titanium instruments are lighter, strong and highly corrosion resistant. They suit selected dental and orthopedic instruments.
Medical-Grade Silicone
Used for color-coding rings, grip handles and tray mats. It tolerates steam sterilization, protects instrument tips and makes instruments easy to identify.
Trays and Cassettes
Our sterilization trays and cassettes are stainless steel with perforations for steam and cleaning solution flow. Instruments stay securely in place during transport and sterilization.
Standards
Surgical stainless steel is commonly specified under standards such as ISO 7153-1, and grade selection follows the function of each instrument.
How We Manufacture Surgical Instrument Sets
Good sets start with good manufacturing. Every instrument goes through controlled steps before it reaches your tray.
Raw Material Check
Incoming steel is checked for grade, size and surface quality.
Forging
Steel blanks are forged to the rough shape, giving a dense, strong structure.
Trimming & Machining
Excess material is removed and the profile, size and joint are machined.
Heat Treatment
Hardenable grades are hardened and tempered for the right balance of hardness and flexibility.
Grinding & Shaping
Edges, jaws, serrations and tips are ground to precise dimensions.
Joint Fitting
Box-lock joints are fitted to move smoothly, and ratchets and locks engage firmly.
Polishing
Mirror, satin or matte finish. Matte reduces glare under operating lights.
Passivation
A chemical treatment strengthens the steel's protective layer. Learn about passivation.
Laser Marking
Your logo, set name, size or catalog number is marked permanently.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Polishing residue and particles are removed.
Final Inspection
Dimensions, alignment, sharpness, joint action and finish are checked.
Set Assembly
Instruments are placed in your layout, counted against your list and packed with your branding.
ISO 13485 & CE Certified Quality
A set is only as good as its weakest instrument, so we hold every piece to the same standard.
Our manufacturing process follows ISO 13485, the international standard for medical device quality management. Our products are also CE marked for the European market. You can read more on our certifications page.
Every batch is inspected before it leaves our facility, so your first set and your hundredth are the same quality.

- Dimensional checks: length, jaw width, tip alignment and joint tolerance
- Function tests: scissors cut cleanly, forceps close evenly, locks hold and release smoothly
- Surface checks: no burrs, sharp edges, pitting or rough spots
- Corrosion resistance: smooth finish and consistent passivation
- Set completeness: every set is counted against your list before packing
- Batch records: traceability from raw material to finished set
- Built for sterilization: made to withstand repeated autoclave cycles, with permanent laser marks and smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces

What You Can Customize
Almost everything in a set can be made your way.
- Instrument selection: choose the instruments, patterns and sizes
- Tray and cassette layout: each instrument gets its own position, so counting is quick
- Laser marking: logo, set name, size or catalog number, permanent after sterilization
- Color coding: silicone rings or accessories to identify instruments and tell sets apart
- Finish: mirror, satin or matte
- Packaging: custom boxes, pouches, labels and cases
- Packing for your market: sets packed individually or in bulk

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Surgical Instrument Sets
What are custom surgical instrument sets?
They are groups of instruments you choose for a specific procedure, arranged in a tray or cassette and made to your specifications, with optional branding.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order is 10 sets, so you can test a design or a market without a big commitment.
Can I choose which instruments go in the set?
Yes. You decide the instruments, patterns and sizes. We build the set around your list.
What material are your surgical instruments made from?
Mainly instrument-grade stainless steel, with grades chosen by function, such as AISI 420 or 410 for cutting instruments and AISI 304 or 316L for non-cutting items. We can also add tungsten carbide inserts, titanium parts and silicone accessories.
What is the difference between stainless steel and tungsten carbide instruments?
